16 November 2011

Amsterdam, Concertgebouw, Kleine Zaal 8.15 p.m.

2011 is BRISK’s 25th anniversary year. This concert presents the festive programme. For the occasion, BRISK is joined by singer Greetje Bijma, percussionist Ramon Lormans and Guus Janssen on the virginal.

Dutch music plays a big part in all BRISK’s concert programmes. The quartet made numerous arrangements and transcriptions of music from the Low Countries. Almost 50 new works were written for BRISK, too. Two composers wrote for this programme: Rob Zuidam and Bart Visman.

The various parts of these new pieces are spread over the evening together with music for recorder quartet and marimba by Hans Koolmees, and improvisations with Greetje Bijma and Guus Janssen.

This new Dutch music is surrounded by Dutch polyphony of Josquin, Ghiselin and Isaac, and dance music by Phalèse.

The concert includes the presentation of the CD Dutch Diversity, which will be released by GLOBE for BRISK’s 25th anniversary.
